Aramoko Ekiti, Nigeria — High Chief Adebayo Oyewole, the Ogboni of Aramoko Ekiti, has issued a formal disclaimer rejecting a recent media report concerning comments attributed to him on the ongoing selection process for the vacant stool of the Alara of Aramoko Ekiti.
In a statement released on 2nd June, 2026, the traditional chief clarified that he had no connection with claims, allegations, or assertions contained in the said publication, particularly as they relate to statements allegedly credited to him.

He explained that prior to the publication, he was contacted by an individual who identified as a correspondent of the Nigerian Tribune, who asked whether there were discrepancies in the ongoing selection process. According to him, he responded clearly that, to the best of his knowledge, there was no discrepancy in the process for filling the vacant stool.
High Chief Oyewole expressed surprise that the subsequent report appeared to present a different position from what he communicated during the interaction, insisting that his comments were straightforward and unequivocal.
He maintained that there is no discrepancy in the ongoing selection process, and reiterated confidence in the integrity of the established customs, traditions, and regulatory procedures guiding the exercise.
The Ogboni of Aramoko Ekiti therefore distanced himself from what he described as a misrepresentation of his remarks, stressing that any insinuation suggesting otherwise does not reflect his actual position.
He urged members of the public, indigenes of Aramoko Ekiti, and stakeholders to disregard any report or interpretation linking him to claims he did not make, reaffirming that his position remains consistent with the explanation he originally gave during the media inquiry.
