Speech Delivered by the Leadership of the Yoruba Youth Assembly During the Presentation of the Yoruba Youth Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity to Amb. Prof. Dr. Princess Akawor Dolor, Founder, Lachlan Foundation and Luxe by Glamoholic, on this day 7th of July 2026.
Distinguished guests, traditional rulers, religious leaders, esteemed dignitaries, members of the Yoruba Youth Assembly, invited guests, ladies and gentlemen,
It is with immense joy and profound honour that I welcome you all to this special occasion organized by the Yoruba Youth Assembly (YYA). The Yoruba Youth Assembly is the foremost umbrella body committed to promoting youth leadership, preserving the rich Yoruba cultural heritage, fostering unity, peaceful coexistence, good governance, and sustainable development among Yoruba youths and across Nigeria. Through advocacy, mentorship, civic engagement, community development, and the recognition of outstanding personalities, the Assembly continues to encourage excellence, integrity, patriotism, and selfless service as essential values for nation-building.
Today, we have gathered to celebrate and honour a remarkable woman whose life and achievements have become a source of inspiration to many across Nigeria and beyond. Amb. Prof. Dr. Princess Akawor Dolor is an exceptional entrepreneur, humanitarian, philanthropist, mentor, and fashion icon whose influence extends far beyond the business world.
As the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Luxe by Glamoholic, she has transformed a vision into one of Nigeria’s leading luxury fashion brands. Through creativity, innovation, excellence, and resilience, she has built a brand that has earned national recognition and serves distinguished clients across Port Harcourt, Lagos, Abuja, and beyond. Her success in the fashion industry has not only created employment opportunities but has also inspired countless young Nigerians, especially women, to pursue entrepreneurship with confidence and determination.
However, what truly distinguishes Dr. Dolor is her unwavering commitment to humanity. Despite her accomplishments in business, she has remained deeply passionate about giving back to society. Through The Lachlan Foundation, established following her personal experience with thyroid disease, she has dedicated herself to raising awareness about thyroid health, supporting patients and their families, providing financial assistance, promoting early diagnosis, and empowering survivors through education, mentorship, and economic opportunities. Her foundation continues to restore hope to vulnerable individuals while helping to eliminate the stigma surrounding thyroid-related conditions.
Dr. Dolor has also invested significantly in mentoring young entrepreneurs, providing guidance, encouragement, and opportunities that have enabled many young people to establish successful businesses and become employers of labour. Her generosity, compassion, and commitment to empowering others reflect the true essence of leadership and humanitarian service.

Prof. Dr. Princess Akawor Dolor the Yoruba Youth Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity as Humanitarian Icon of the Year 2025/2026. This prestigious honour is in recognition of her outstanding humanitarian service, unwavering commitment to philanthropy, exceptional leadership, and invaluable contributions to youth and women empowerment.
