Youth leaders and stakeholders from Lanlate (Ward 9) in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State have called for the zoning of the 2027 Oyo State House of Assembly ticket to their ward, citing decades of political exclusion.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The demand was contained in a communiqu\u00e9 issued at the end of a consultative meeting attended by community influencers, youth representatives, and political stakeholders in Lanlate.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

According to the group, Ward 9 remains the only ward in Ibarapa East that has never produced a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, a situation they described as unjust and unacceptable.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They noted that despite consistently supporting political parties through voter mobilization and electoral participation, the people of Lanlate have not been considered for representation.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The communiqu\u00e9 emphasized that zoning, though not formally documented, has played a significant role in maintaining political balance within the constituency and should be applied to correct what they termed a longstanding imbalance.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe continued exclusion of Lanlate is not just political neglect, but a denial of identity and voice,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The group maintained that the ward has competent and credible individuals capable of representing the constituency effectively, adding that further marginalization could lead to increased political tension in the area.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As part of its resolutions, the group declared that the zoning of the 2027 Assembly ticket to Ward 9 is \u201cnon-negotiable\u201d and called on all political parties in Ibarapa East to align their structures accordingly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They also urged party leaders and stakeholders to demonstrate commitment to fairness by ensuring that their party tickets are ceded to candidates from Lanlate.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While reaffirming their commitment to peaceful and democratic engagement, the youths stated that they would intensify mobilization efforts to ensure their demand is respected.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They also expressed readiness to support and work for the success of any credible candidate that emerges from Ward 9.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The communiqu\u00e9 concluded with a call on political leaders, elders, and stakeholders across Ibarapa East to address what it described as a historic imbalance in the interest of unity and democratic inclusion.<\/p>\n

\u201cJustice for Lanlate is justice for Ibarapa East,\u201d the group stated.<\/p>\n
